MEN’S FASHION: HOW TO DRESS IN WINTER 2020
First of all, we should clarify one thing: you don’t have to obsess with color. Even if you can think about it, nobody will judge you for using a reddish garment during the winter temperature. As long as, yes, follow the most obvious advice: you should always dress for the occasion, choosing those tones that best suit your skin tone, and ultimately choose those tones that do not clash so much.
That said, especially in winter, an extremely interesting option is to go around the colors or shades we usually use and get away from the more sober tones, such as black or gray. Unless, of course, we want to offer an elegant but casual look (as could be the case with gray), the truth is that with any neutral tone such as black, navy, gray, or white you will be quite sure.
HOW TO USE COLOR IN WINTER: SOME TIPS THAT WILL BE USEFUL
CONSIDER YOUR SKIN TONE
As far as the latest style is concerned, finding the right color according to our skin tone is complicated, and in many cases, it basically comes down to understanding which one could fit us better.
For example, if you have an olive color you can choose items of clothing with yellow or green tones. While the darker your skin tone, the easier it will be to achieve bright colors.
COMBINE WITH CARE
As a general rule, somewhat brighter colors tend to appear more when combined with black or white garments. In this way, it is normal that you may want to ask yourself if, really, you should wear your black jeans every day.
Instead, however, you can choose to replace them from time to time with a pair of gray or navy blue pants, which will help create a much softer contrast with somewhat more vibrant tones.
CHOOSE THE MOST SUITABLE MATERIAL
We usually look only at the color, and we forget something very important: the characteristics of the garment that we are going to wear, especially in relation to the type of material with which it has been manufactured.
For example, garments that contain acrylic or polyester tend to take the color better and print the shades better, creating a much more vivid, intense, and beautiful appearance.
However, natural fibers, as with cotton or wool, once dyed tend to appear less rough, especially when they have a textured finish, and can generate some depth that will help to soften the overall effect.
DRESSING FOR THE SEASON
The deepest and richest tones are usually an excellent option for autumn and winter. And everything will depend on what your favorite colors are, to try to move on the same range of colors and shades.
Thus, for example, if during the summer months red tends to be your favorite color, during the transition of the change of season (that is, from summer to autumn, and finally to winter), burgundy can become an excellent substitute.
But you don’t have to start big. You can, for example, start by applying some color flashes on rather small elements, such as for example the shoes, the coat, or the occasional extra accessory.
In this sense, although the mustard or khaki color may not be ideal shades for all men, the truth is that a brown coat is universally elegant.
USEFUL WAYS TO USE COLOR IN WINTER
In most situations, a sweatshirt, pants, and a pair of sneakers can be useful, as well as extremely comfortable. And, among the most suitable colors or shades, you can opt for a blue or orange, ideally without any logo or graphic print. That for the upper part, because for the lower one an interesting option is to choose a gray or a navy blue.
If, on the other side, you want to be at the most elegant end (for example, wearing casual but strictly business matters), an ideal option is to replace the sweater with an orange sweater, and a matching shirt that matches with blue, or purple with purple.
Between the Christmas holidays of the office, the winter weddings, and the clothes to choose for Christmas Eve or New Year’s Eve, the truth is that the coldest months of the year are not necessarily suitable for disguise.
And although you can choose to dust off the typical party costume of every year, why not try to stand out with a burgundy or bottle green suit? They are all rich and deep, who seem inherently intelligent. In turn, opt for a white shirt and a dark tie and you’re ready!
